Before Magnolia Mermaid ever made a bar of soap, I was decorating cakes. Not the quick kind — the kind where you step back, squint a little, and decide the swirl needs one more tiny detail.
Cake decorating taught me patience. It taught me color. It taught me how a simple thing can feel magical when you treat it like art.
So why soap?
When I found soap making, it felt like coming home. It's practical (we all use it), but it's also this beautiful little canvas. A bar can be soft and feminine, coastal and bright, bold and moody — and it can still be gentle and skin-loving.
How we became Magnolia Mermaid
The name started with something personal — magnolia for Southern elegance and strength, and the mermaid for that dreamy, whimsical coastal spirit that runs through everything we create. Together, they capture the heart of this little shop — handmade goods rooted in charm, beauty, and everyday joy.
Every detail matters
I'm picky about ingredients. I source premium fragrance oils (Bramble Berry is a favorite) and I build my recipes to be toxin-free and gentle — with baby-safe and pet-safe options in mind.
And then there's the presentation. I wrap for freshness and protection, and I label everything clearly (including full ingredient lists, because that matters too).
My hope for you
I want Magnolia Mermaid to feel like a tiny permission slip: take 10 minutes for you. Light a candle. Wash your hands slowly. Breathe. ✧
